Stage Fright was founded by Thai-Phuong Nguyen in November 2011.

The event was first created from the desire to empower individuals who lack confidence in themselves and their creative talents.

The concept behind Stage Fright is to acknowledge feelings of fear, embarrassment, suppression and to create a platform where those involved engage in the idea of being ‘fearless’ and fully self expressed. Stage Fright aims to provide a supportive environment that encourages individuals to step outside of their comfort zones and increase their confidence in sharing and pursuing creative endeavors.

As the event is also supporting Able Australia, an organization that supports the needs of individuals with multiple disabilities, participants of the event will be able to gain a sense of satisfaction from making a difference to others as well.

The goals of Stage Fright:

  1. To empower individuals by encouraging them and providing a platform to showcase their creative talents
  2. To bring a slice of the community together to enjoy and appreciate performance, music and art
  3. Create a hub of creativity between artists and musicians
  4. To raise awareness and support Able Australia, a non profit organization that supports those with disabilities including deaf blindness

Activities at the event:

  1. Music & dance performances
  2. Art & design showcase
  3. Raffles - a hamper filled with donated goods from artists as well as other sponsors
